The Fascinating World of Special Colors for Cars

Hey, folks, it’s Fonzie, and today we’re diving headfirst into the colorful world of car customization. As I stand before you, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation and curiosity. Why, you ask? Well, right beside me, we have our DYC CS4, and it’s already sporting a sleek black base coat, ready for some automotive magic. But the question that looms large is, what exactly are we going to spray on this car? Hold onto your seats, because today we’re about to embark on a journey through the realm of special colors for cars.

Mixing it Up

If you’ve been following our videos over the past month or two, you’ll know that we’ve been doing a lot of custom mixing, playing with various Performance Series colors, color shift pearls, hypershift pearls, and a whole lot more. Normally, we show you the inside of the mixing bucket, where two different colors gracefully blend together, creating a unique custom shade that we then spray onto the car. But, you know what? You, our fantastic viewers, have planted a seed of curiosity in our minds. You’ve been asking about the possibility of mixing two different colors directly on the car without blending them beforehand. Sounds intriguing, right? Well, it certainly got our attention.

The Bold Experiment

So, here’s the daring plan. We’re going to take two very different pearls, the reptile flip pearls, and the Atlantic color shift pearls, and mix them directly into DYC topcoat. Instead of pre-mixing them in a bucket, we’re going to pour both colors into the paint cup at the same time. Why? Because we want to see what happens when these two colors collide without any premeditated fusion. This approach ensures that every paint cup we spray will be a unique combination of colors. But before we jump into the action, let’s take a moment to examine how these colors will interact within the paint cups.

Unpredictable Results

As we pour both colors into a large bucket, you can already see how they start to swirl and dance together, creating an unpredictable interplay of hues. How will this turn out on the car? Frankly, I have no idea, but it’s a journey worth embarking on. Let’s talk about the possibilities.

Expected Outcomes

When we embarked on this project, we knew there were two possible outcomes. The first scenario involved the colors refusing to blend and mixing together in the spray gun or during the atomization process. This would have resulted in the car being painted with two distinct colors, creating a crazy pattern with blocks of contrasting shades. The second scenario was the one we ultimately encountered.

The Surprising Outcome

In reality, the colors did not stay separate. As they mixed and went through the spray gun, they essentially combined into one new color, with the two pearls fusing to create something entirely unexpected. While it might not be the wild, splatter design some of you may have hoped for, the end result is truly remarkable. We ended up with a custom mixed color that’s a blend of greyish, greenish, with hints of red and blue. Trust me; it’s something you have to see to believe.

A Pleasant Surprise

What makes this project so exciting is not the process but the final product. The color we stumbled upon, by randomly mixing these two unique pearls, is nothing short of amazing. It’s a shade that we would have never arrived at if not for this experimental approach. It just goes to show that sometimes, in the world of car customization, serendipity can lead to breathtaking results.
